Solutions.Endorsed by AIM, VeriDoc offers benefits for boards, applicants, & the public.
|
For the Boards
The participating boards essentially collect the revenue without doing the work. This system significantly reduces the amount of staff time and resources spent on the verification process while still receiving their required license verification fees, resulting in no loss of revenue for the boards.
For the Applicants
This system is much more convenient than the current process, which becomes increasingly efficient as the number of participating states increases. If every state board would participate, then all applicants for licensure who need to have a previous license verified would essentially have “one stop shopping” to complete this part of the application process.
This system is also much faster and more reliable than the current process. Rather than waiting days or weeks for the mail to deliver checks and verification requests to the boards and then verification statements to the receiving boards, the VeriDoc system delivers verification statements to the receiving boards just moments after the request has been submitted. It represents virtually instant verification of medical licensure status. Physicians appreciate the convenience of sending multiple license verifications in a single, reliable transaction.

For the Public
This system results in faster licensure processing times and more efficient medical boards.
For AIM
This service is designed to make one aspect of the physician licensure process far more efficient than it is today. Its work goes right to the heart and soul of what AIM is all about - helping medical board executives to do their job better. It also represents a source of revenue for AIM.
Objections Resolved
Although 27 boards are currently contracted as participating boards with VeriDoc, which is also endorsed by AIM, expressed or anticipated objections have the following solutions:
“WE WANT VERIFICATIONS TO BE FREE FOR PHYSICIANS”
While many physicians appreciate this gesture, we have found that the majority of physicians value convenience and speed of licensure over saving a few bucks with the offer of a free license verification.
“WE WANT THE VERIFICATION PROCESS TO BE EASY FOR PHYSICIANS”
Overall, there’s no easier, more reliable process for applicants than VeriDoc, especially when physicians must verify multiple licenses to multiple boards in which they are applying.
“BUT PHYSICIANS CAN VERIFY THEIR LICENSE EASILY THROUGH OUR WEBSITE”
While this may be true, the physicians still must go to each individual board’s website to research instructions, complete multiple requests and/or CC transactions for their multiple licenses held, and often sift through an enormous amount of verbiage on numerous web pages to complete this one of many tasks in the application process. Some sites even require physicians to log into their accounts, which physicians express is one more obstacle since they don’t always remember all of their required logins or have them at their immediate disposal to complete this task.
“WHAT WILL OUR ‘VERIFICATION STAFF MEMBER’ DO IF VERIDOC REPLACES OUR PROCESS?”
Staff normally assigned to the job of verifying licenses, which can easily be done by VeriDoc’s automated system, can be freed up to assist with other demands to help alleviate the enormous burden placed on the boards due to the current medical climate and increasing volume of licensing, particularly as more of our medical professionals practice across state lines. And if your board elects to enlist VeriDoc as an optional verification method rather than its primary method to give applicants the choice on how they can expedite their applications, the load on your verification specialist(s) can be lifted for greater productivity and less burn out.
“WE HAVE REGULATIONS IN PLACE THAT PREVENT US FROM USING A 3RD PARTY”
Passing information through an agent who has a contractual relationship with the approved source meets NCQA standards. See “Standards & Security Measures VeriDoc Meets.”
“HOW CAN WE BE ASSURED THIS SYSTEM IS RELIABLE & SECURE?”
VeriDoc’s secure system incorporates separate security measures to protect the data downloads, permit receiving boards to confirm the validity of verifications sent by VeriDoc, and guarantee the security of credit card transactions. See “Standards & Security Measures VeriDoc Meets.”
“WE MAY BE INTERESTED IF OTHER PROFESSIONS ARE ADDED”
VeriDoc is currently in the initial stages of developing verification of licensure for additional professions. If your board is opposed to implementing VeriDoc because of its limitations in currently only verifying physician and physician assistant licenses, please contact us to discuss more rapid development of a more robust licensure verification system.
